Abstract: »The limitations called up by the first equivalence are demonstrated in the next chapter, by Elisa Groff , titled ‘Sexual violence in female martyrdoms’, which moves discussion from ‘the Roman world’ as customarily understood to what is conventionally known today as ‘Byzantium’.
